Your Weekend Forecast: 19th May

Winter is coming, fire up your weekend with some red hot Melbourne parties..

Thursday 19th

Good Lovin’ with Jimmy Caution, River Yarra & Sequacious @ The Night Cat

Good Lovin’ welcomes another week of local legends at the Night Cat this Thursday. One of Melbourne’s most dynamic selectors and collectors, Jimmy Caution, is joined long time friend and rare Fitzroy talent Sequacious plus the name and face loved citywide, River Yarra.

Friday 20th

Animals Dancing with Jack J (Mood Hut, Future Times) @ Mercat

Animals Dancing’s 2016 party onslaught continues with Vancouver dawg Jack J, who hits the (Mercat) basement this Friday. One of the Mood Hut main men, Jack forms half of the Pender Street Steppers force that continues to blow audiences away every time they spin.

Unfortunately the show is sold out, but as this will be the last party hosted by the crew for a few months, it’s one well worth a frantic ‘please sell me a ticket’ Facebook post.

Raw Wax with Marquis Hawkes @ Hugs&Kisses

Raw sounds with Raw Wax and Marquis Hawkes at Hugs this Friday night. In keeping with Hawkes’ sounds of the underground it’s a tour that’s flown under the radar until now. Definitely not to be missed, particularly if you don’t have a ticket to Jack J.

Saturday 21st

BIG TIME 4: The Tale of Lucille E. Goose @ Vic Bar

Big Time takes it to the Vic Bar this Saturday arvo to tell the tale of Lucille E. Goose. It’s a story you don’t want to miss.

Mania with Sleep D, Josh Wells, Paul Jager, Hazim & Div @ Lounge

Mania keeps the local resident fire burning this week with a squad of maniacs. Sleep D are taking the reins for an extended set as always, this time joined by ¿Club D’érange?’s Paul Jager, plus Josh Well and Hazim & Div.

SPIN CLUB @ Mercat

Double down on the Mercat if you’re game- everyone’s favourite dance family will be having their monthly hoon this Saturday night. We say hoon because with those lads + turntables there should be a few doughies in the gravel.
